Today, March 18th 2026, My daughter and I visited your Fairlawn location, my daughter telling me on the way that this is a big store, not like Canton. We go inside and did some easter shopping. When cashing out there was some samples behind the cashier and being so late in the day we could use a pick me up, so I asked her and she said yes they were samples. Our total checkout was almost $100.00. After tasting the sample we both agreed we should buy a box. Another associate came over and put the candy in a drawer, like I shouldn't have asked to have one. She didn't say hi to me even after I happily said, "Well you sold us a box" they were Carmelo Eggs. She frowned at me and didn't say a word. She has long stringy, almost dirty looking, black hair, wears glasses. I could not believe she was treating me like that, she couldn't even say hi and "yes that's why we put samples out." She was so unfriendly. This is an expensive pleasure that few are able to afford these days. I was so offended I said it out loud, and even the cashier agreed with me, so she must be intolerable to work with. I enjoyed shopping in your store. The chocolate covered strawberries used to be a twice-yearly staple in our household, something we looked forward to. As the years went on we accepted the rising costs as part of the holidays they represented. This is the last time we endure the rising cost and ever increasing shrink-flation. We could justify the cost previously as they were (mostly) full strawberries and good chocolate. But they’re not even strawberries anymore. Opening a box is a gamble in itself: how many full strawberries will I get this time? The answer is: far too few, 0 in this case. The previous 10 strawberries now reduced to 10 minuscule half-berries. Fewer good sized or even whole strawberries, far fewer surface area for chocolate. All while ever increasing costs. It feels less like an adjustment due to costs of strawberries or chocolate. And more like taking advantage of customers who, like me, have a history and nostalgia for them.

This place is awesome! They have a wide variety of chocolate and candy, so finding something for everyone is a piece of cake. Everything is so organized and a super friendly staff keeps me coming back time and time again.
